In our newest release, GrownBy 3.9.1, we've added order editing to the retail Marketplace and a slew of new reports for accounting and business insights.

GrownBy 3.9.1 makes selling meat easier than ever with variable weights

Get ready for GrownBy 3.9.1! We've made improvements to your experience online by making several updates, bug fixes and changes based on farmer feedback and requests.

Meat Producers — this is for you!

At long last, GrownBy now offers optional order editing in our retail Marketplace. This feature, long requested by our meat producers and other selling items by weight, allows farms to edit any aspect of the order before it is finalized —including variable weights.

To turn on order editing, simply head to Account Settings. All grownby.com Marketplace settings are now nested under the Marketplace tab.

When order editing is on, farmers can optionally edit, decline, or fulfill new online orders. If a farmer does nothing at all, the order will be fulfilled at the time of distribution. Payments are made by customers at the time of fulfillment. 

Variable weights are edited before order fulfillment to adjust the price and quantity

An example of how this might be used:

A farmer offers whole beef cattle for sale. Customers select their desired size and submit their order. The farmer edits each order on fulfillment to the exact weight of the steer and the customer is then charged for the exact weight of the animal.

11 New Reports for Your Farm

New Reports section includes exports by Sales date; Payment date; and a full Customer export with key data

We've replaced the Sales Report section with Reports in GrownBy 3.9.1. Within this section, a farmer can view Sales, Customer, or Accounting reports. Sales reports are based on Orders, whereas Accounting reports are based on payments made. The Customer report option provides a snapshot of the sales history and balances of all of your current customers. Lastly, within the financial reports section, we are pleased to offer two reports formatted specifically for Quickbooks: an invoice export and a credit memo export. These reports can be utilized by customers looking to include all of their invoices in Quickbooks. We also have new breakdowns per payout; farmers can see their payout data broken down into meaningful categories for business insights and bank reconciliation.
