Our story
The first farmer-owned software for local farm sales.
In 2019, Farm Generations Cooperative launched GrownBy, the first farmer-owned software platform built for local farm sales. By connecting growers with shoppers across America, GrownBy fosters a direct and fair exchange between farmers and the people they feed.
The platform lets small farmers thrive collectively, building a more resilient and community-forward agricultural landscape. We’re cultivating a future where small farmers grow big, together.

What we’re building toward
Regenerative agriculture
We uplift farms that improve soil health, sequester carbon, and minimize unhealthy inputs. Farmers add certifications like Organic, Certified Naturally Grown, and Animal Welfare Approved, or describe their practices in their own words.
Food access
Fresh farm food shouldn’t be limited to those who can afford it. That’s why we were the first app for farmers to accept SNAP Online, and why we work with the Culinary Institute of America to help institutions bring local food into their food service.
Farm viability
The U.S. has lost millions of farmers over the past century. By offering low-cost services and a company where farmers are respected and valued, we’re a foundation for their future success.
