What is GrownBy Register?

How much does GrownBy Register cost?
Register is included in the Register + Offline plan at $50 USD ($70 CAD) per month, or $540/year when you pay annually. There is one flat fee for your whole farm, with no per-location charges, no setup fee, and no co-op fee on Register sales.
Can I accept SNAP/EBT at my farmers market stand with GrownBy Register?
Yes. Farms authorized by USDA FNS can accept SNAP/EBT in person with GrownBy Register, alongside cards and cash. In-person SNAP transactions cost $0.10 each through Fortis, with no percentage fee, and a compliant card reader is required for SNAP.
What are the card fees on Register sales?
2.6% + $0.10 per in-person card payment with Fortis, or 2.9% + $0.15 with Stripe. There is no co-op fee on Register, cash, or offline payments.
What hardware do I need?
You can take cards with tap to pay on your phone; a card reader and other hardware are optional. A compliant card reader is required to accept SNAP with Fortis. Register also works with Star Micronics barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers over Bluetooth, and can send receipts by text instead of printing.
Can I sell by weight at the register?
Yes. Register supports products priced by decimal weight, so you can enter the weight at the stand and charge the exact price.
Does Register handle cash?
Yes. When customers pay with cash, Register calculates change automatically, and you can export your sales data for bookkeeping.
