Farm Generations Cooperative receives Capital Impact Partners' Co-op Innovation Award

Farm Generations Cooperative is proud to announce that we have won the 2025 Co-op Innovation Award from Capital Impact Partners! In celebration of this recognition, co-founders Lindsey Lusher Shute and Mike Parker were featured in an interview on the Everything Co-op radio show (above), where they shared the cooperative’s mission, impact, and vision.

About the Co-op Innovation Awards
Of their various funding and awards programs, CIP created the Co-op Innovation Award in 2015 to further the national impact of cooperative organizations. Each year, select cooperatives focusing on food access, affordable housing, worker ownership, and related community impact receive grant funding, up to $50,000, to help grow innovative models and drive job creation and shared prosperity. The awards also connect recipients with funders, policymakers, and partners to amplify their impact nationwide.
Farm Generations Cooperative was fortunate to receive this award in 2025 to continue empowering our members through GrownBy. Our farmer-owned marketing platform helps producers sell food directly to their communities and has made technology more accessible for farmers to accept SNAP, WIC, Double Up Food Bucks, and produce prescriptions; expanding healthy food access for families with low incomes. With this grant, Farm Generations intends to replicate and grow our food access program regionally and share the successful model with farms nationwide.
About the Everything Co-op Radio Show
After winning this award, Capital Impact Partners also invited our co-Founders, Lindsey Lusher Shute and Mike Parker, to be interviewed on the Everything Co-op radio show. Everything Co-op is a weekly radio show hosted by Vernon Oakes, dedicated to educating listeners about the power and impact of the cooperative business model. Launched in honor of National Co-op Month with support from the National Cooperative Bank, the show has been on the air for six years and features conversations that highlight how cooperatives address critical issues such as housing, health care, food access, cost-of-living challenges, and wealth distribution. They aim to help audiences understand how cooperatives can create more equitable and resilient communities.
