Gorgeous Goat Creamery Triples Wholesale Customers with GrownBy Wholesale marketplace

Beginnings of Gorgeous Goat Creamery

Tucked away in Stockton, New Jersey, Gorgeous Goat Creamery was founded in 2020 as an eco‑friendly solution to invasive plants by first‑generation farmers Maria Stewart and Matt Kriegler. Fueled by their collective passion for sustainability, the couple leveraged Maria’s PhD in Nutrition Science to build a thriving goat dairy farm that now sells bottled milk, yogurt, cheese, and skincare to customers across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Since day one, Gorgeous Goat Creamery has been committed to nurturing its land and community while delivering high-quality, regionally made goat dairy goods.

Until 2023, the majority of Gorgeoup Goat Creamery's revenue came from direct-to-consumer sales at farmers markets and at the couple's farm stand, with only a handful of wholesale customers in the mix. As the reality of the labor involved in selling at farmers markets and at the farm stand began to impede Gorgeous Goat Creamery's business growth, the dairy began to pursue wholesale opportunities more seriously. Maria shares that, before integrating GrownBy into Gorgeous Goat Creamery 's retail operations, all sales were completely manual; she would send out texts and emails to wholesale contacts listing available products for the week.

Getting started with GrownBy

Gorgeous Goat Creamery joined GrownBy retail with hopes of boosting its sales and simplifying its inventory management. Since integrating GrownBy into their business, Gorgeous Goat Creamery has automated its inventory tracking and introduced a pre-order system that allows customers to order in advance for pick up at farmers markets. Maria shares that, as a seasonal farm, this feature has proven crucial for slower months by allowing customers to “reserve” products when stock is limited- ensuring they get their products and the farm gets its sales.

The first farm on GrownBy Wholesale

As one of the first beta testers, Gorgeous Goat Creamery started using GrownBy Wholesale earlier this year. In the webinar, Maria shared how wholesale used to be a "very, very small percentage of [their] total dairy sales," attributing the lack of sales diversity to market demand and labor allocation. She attributes Gorgeous Goat Creamery's business growth in 2025 to the increased capacity created by GrownBy Wholesale; the dairy's wholesale customer base has tripled, and the farm has seen an overall increase in sales for the year so far.

From individual texts and emails to an automated online market. For Gorgeous Goat Creamery, the early stages of their wholesale system relied on manual communication to inform customers of their available stock for the week and individual texts and emails to place orders and coordinate delivery. By incorporating GrownBy Wholesale, the dairy farm can now automate and streamline its wholesale orders and communications onto one platform.

Tracking inventory in one place. For farmers on Grownby, retail and wholesale orders pull from one master inventory. This feature not only simplifies tracking stock but also keeps all inventory data in one place. Businesses are then able to customize their product allocation for retail and wholesale customers, controlling who can see what stock and or quantities. When comparing GrownBy to their previous manual ordering system, Gorgeous Goat Creamery shared that inventory tracking and management are now significantly easier with no concerns about the possibility of overselling their orders.

Incorporating deals unique to Gorgeous Goat with editing and customization. GrownBy's online system allows easy order editing and customization before fulfillment in case of incorrect orders or unexpected inventory shortages. Maria shared that this feature has helped her tremendously when it comes to simplifying refunds on Gorgeous Goat Creamery's bottle deposit fee. Now, when customers return their glass bottles, she can simply credit their next order for the return on GrownBy's sales platform.

Keeping their flexibility. GrownBy Wholesale allows sellers to determine payment terms for their customers. For example, Gorgeous Goat Creamery uses Net30 pricing, giving its buyers 30 days after the invoice date to fulfill their payment. While Maria and Matt decided that Net30 worked best for their business, other sellers have the ability to decide and implement a system that works for them.

How Gorgeous Goat implemented GrownBy Wholesale

Invited existing and prospective wholesale customers to shop- Customers must be invited to the wholesale platform by sellers to gain access. This prevents retail customers from seeing products at wholesale pricing.
Customers placed orders, and administrators (sellers) respond- Administrators have the ability to edit orders prior to fulfillment. This allows sellers to make sure the customer’s order is correct and they have the necessary inventory. Even if an order is not yet approved, the purchase will be represented in available stock to prevent overselling.
Orders were prepared, and fulfillment was completed- Once orders are prepared, sellers simply need to press “fulfilled” to create an invoice.
Determining terms of payment- Sellers choose whether they would like for customers' payments to be processed within 30 days of creating an invoice or immediately after placing an order.
