GrownBy’s new Register is a brand-new point-of-sale app specifically designed for farmers selling at farmers markets and independent farm stores. With GrownBy and GrownBy Register, farmers have a powerful new way to speed up customer checkout, unify data, and increase sales.

Farm Generations Cooperative is hosting a BETA period for farmers to provide feedback on GrownBy Register. The BETA app is now available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, but you must apply to add your farm through the application form.
During BETA testing, the app is free. In return, we ask that you provide feedback so we can continue improving the technology before its wider release.
Payments in Person
Accept payments at stores and markets through GrownBy Register with GrownBy's payment partners, Stripe and Fortis (Coming Soon).
Farm Credit -- from online to offline!
One of the most exciting features of GrownBy Register is that your customers can use their existing farm credit to pay for orders made in person.
Simply add the customer’s email at checkout — or have them scan the QR code from their GrownBy app on your device — and you can apply their available farm credit instantly.
Credit Cards at Market
All GrownBy farmers are already connected to Stripe, so payments are ready to go on any mobile device with tap-to-pay enabled. Customers simply tap their credit card to your device.
If you’re using a tablet with a larger screen, you’ll need to purchase a Square M2 reader and pair it with the app via Bluetooth.
EBT at Market (we already offer Online!)
During the BETA test, we'll also introduce additional EBT-compliant credit card and SNAP/EBT readers through Fortis. Stay tuned for more!
Cash
Cash is king at markets! We understand why cash makes sense for you and your customers.
GrownBy Register will calculate change automatically when you receive cash payments — and we’ve integrated a cash drawer to support fast, seamless checkout (see below).
Integrated Printer, Scanner, Cash Drawer
For farm stores and busy market stalls a printer, scanner, and cash drawer are essential for supporting increased speed on checkouts.
We have integrated all three through Star Micronics. The hardware is available for sale at this unique POS Guys storefront here.

With GrownBy Register, you can manage a single, unified inventory while offering different buying options for retail, wholesale, and farmers markets.
Even better, with Global Inventory, farmers can list as many products as they need for online or market sales, all drawing from the same available stock.
Example
A vegetable grower with 1,000 lbs of storage carrots for the winter can sell by the case on GrownBy Wholesale, by the 5 lb bag on GrownBy Marketplace, and simply by-the-pound at their local farmers market.
One Customer List
When customers check out using GrownBy Register, farmers have the option to attach the customer’s account information to the order. This makes it easy to look up the customer by name, or — for verification — have them scan a QR code from their GrownBy app.
Once the customer information is attached, the customer will receive an email notification confirming the order. They can also view their full order history on grownby.com or in the GrownBy app under “Orders.”
Pay Any GrownBy Invoice
CSA and other customers may come to pick up an order while still having an outstanding balance. With GrownBy Register, it’s easy for them to pay on the spot! Simply open the app, find their invoice under “Invoices,” and process the payment using any of the Register payment options. Once paid, the invoice will be automatically marked Paid in GrownBy.

Reports for the whole farm
GrownBy Register will save farmers hours of administrative work by providing comprehensive reports that combine online and offline sales while offering new business insights. By bringing together wholesale, CSA, online, and market/store sales, farmers now have a single source of data for tracking trends and income. You’ll be able to access detailed reports on recent sales, categorize payouts, and easily upload invoices and credit memos to QuickBooks.
